We warmly congratulate Karl Kletzmaier on this very well-deserved award!
Appreciation
The honor was presented by Mayor Klaus Luger. He praised Karl Kletzmaier as a personality who has been associated with the Linz economy for over 60 years and has left his mark on it.
Career of the award winner
Karl Kletzmaier began his professional career as an apprentice at VÖEST, to which he returned after graduating from high school and where he was one of the first programmers for industrial computers in Austria. There he met Gunter Krippner, with whom he founded Krippner und Kletzmaier Elektronikbau at the end of the 1960s, and thereby laid the foundation for KEBA. Today, KEBA is a globally operating technology company for automation solutions for a wide range of industries with more than 2,000 employees. The company group is still headquartered in Linz. Until 2006, Karl Kletzmaier was Chairman of the Board of KEBA AG and subsequently its Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Then and now, his entrepreneurial vision and his high level of personal commitment to the company are characteristic of him.
However, his services to the economy in Linz are not limited to KEBA alone. Karl Kletzmaier had a number of functions in renowned institutions and companies. It was always very important to him to actively shape the future of the Upper Austrian business region. For example, he was Chairman of the Upper Austrian Council for Research and Technology for a period of more than 8 years, and was also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Linz Airport.
Words of thanks from Karl Kletzmaier
Karl Kletzmaier is very honored to have received the Great Golden Decoration of Honor of the City of Linz and at the same time he would like to thank his family, all his supporters and all employees of KEBA without whom, in his opinion, he would never have been able to achieve all this.
