For the second time this year, KEBA has been awarded a globally recognized and coveted design prize. Hot on the heels of the iF design award, the brand new KeMes protractor, which was primarily designed for fully automatic quality control at a sheet-metal bending machine, received another award for successful product design – the Red Dot Award – and this in the year in which the Austrian automation company celebrates its 50th anniversary.

More than 6,300 items from 59 nations were submitted for this year's competition and each was assessed by a 40-member jury true to the motto "In search of good design and innovation". Considering the strict assessment criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability, it is all the more gratifying that the newest member of the KEBA product family received the coveted design prize.
Measure angles easily and faster
The award-winning protractor stands for a completely new method of angle measurement and was primarily designed for users of press brakes to allow angle deviations to be quickly and directly detected during the production process. This makes a major contribution to avoiding scrap. The production process does not need to be interrupted – the KeMes laser protractor enables seamless quality assurance without losing any time.
Unlike current solutions such as time-consuming manual spot checks or expensive measuring devices, which are integrated in the press brake and can only be used as standalone solutions for machines from a specific manufacturer, KEBA has developed a measuring system that is not dependent on the manufacturer or machine and can additionally be used for manual angle inspection.
Using the KeMes angle measurement device, sheet-metal working companies are now able to measure sheet-metal angles simply, precisely and more quickly and, as a result, can increase their productivity and the quality of their products.
