"Automation solutions to suit your taste - Create your own automation solution” is the motto of our invitation to SPS this year. Because this year we are focusing on holistic, flexible and open automation solutions.
Together with our experts, visitors to our exhibition stand can create individual automation solutions to suit their taste. Just as easily as combining individual ingredients to make a burger, the components from our Kemro X product and service portfolio can be combined with each other in a variety of ways to create integrated automation solutions for our customers. Thanks to the open interfaces, components from third-party providers can be added as additional “ingredients” to Kemro X – our platform for industrial automation solutions – at any time.
The wide range of options for combining and refining the ingredients reflects the greatest advantage of Kemro X: the openness of the platform and the comprehensive KEBA product portfolio. Customers can put together their “burger” from our portfolio as they wish and refine it with their own “ingredients”. Alternatively, they can have our experts suggest an individual solution – similar to a recommendation from a chef.
At the exhibition booth, our team will be presenting the following “ingredients” and recipes for customized automation solutions:
Kemro X live demonstration
The hardware and software components from the Kemro X product and service portfolio can be combined with each other in a versatile and simple manner. Using the example of an end-of-line system from the packaging technology, we present our products and technologies for systems, robotics and mechanical engineering – in the combination of real application and digital twin.
The following innovative solutions and technological highlights can be therein found:
Drive technology
KeDrive is the flexible, safe and open servo drive system for modular machines.
The KeDrive D3 multi-axis drive system is used for machine modules with many axes. KeDrive D3 guarantees efficient energy exchange and energy storage. This ensures, for example, controlled movement or controlled system shutdown in the event of a power failure. With up to three axes in one device, the system also fits into very compact control cabinets.
The KeDrive D3-AC All-In-One multi-axis controller is ideal when only a few axes are present in a machine module. AC mains input, mains filter, braking resistor and up to 3 axes are integrated in just one device. In the Kemro X exhibit, only one KeDrive D3-AC controls all three axes of a delta robot.
The new KeDrive D5-Micro completes the portfolio for servo applications in the protective extra-low voltage range.
AI module
The AI module AE 550 offers the possibility of calculating AI algorithms in the Kemro X overall system. The focus here is on the integration of AI into existing control systems. Thus, for example, AI-supported object recognition can be used and utilized in the PLC or robot control in order to manipulate the recognized objects.
Safe Wireless
KeTop T150 / T155 Safe Wireless: Easy-to-use wireless machine operation in portrait or landscape format. The handheld operating devices are open for all controls and thanks to the Bluetooth connection for communicating safety data, uninterrupted work is guaranteed. The “operating range monitoring” option is available for even more safety during operation.
Integrated robotics using the example of packaging
Here we demonstrate both a highly dynamic delta robot and the possibilities of the digital twin of a multi-robot system.
Our trade fair visitors can interactively control the delta robot, which illustrates the high degree of flexibility that can be achieved by using integrated robotics.
In the simulation, we show the operation of four robots on a single control system, which makes it easy to achieve excellent coordination in the material flow.
The KEBA robotics solution offers machine manufacturers a comprehensive platform with sophisticated robotics functions and the openness to integrate their own technologies. Thanks to the full simulation capability, users can easily develop flexible system concepts as early as the pre-sales process and accurately predict both performance and material flow. In practice, the kinematics prove to be more powerful and precise than standard solutions thanks to the KEBA robotics solution, which leads to an increase in machine performance of up to 15 percent.
What else can be seen at the KEBA booth:
Handheld operating devices / HMI
In the HMI area, our team will be showing several highlights at the SPS. In addition to Safe-Wireless (our wireless approach), interested parties can use our product configurator to configure mobile and stationary KeTop panels according to their own needs and requirements with just a few clicks. Users can choose from a wide range of KeTop “Basic” handheld operating devices and configure the keyboard and the desired design, as well as the built-in elements, in just a few steps. The matching accessories, such as connection boxes and cables, can also be configured. After presenting the new 7” handheld operating device KeTop T135 last year, we are proud to present another variant, the KeTop T135 ECO, for the first time at this year's SPS.
Product launch: KeDrive D5
We have expanded our drive portfolio and are presenting the new KeDrive D5 series of single-axis servo drives, which fit seamlessly into the Kemro X open automation platform, for the first time at the SPS in Nuremberg. These controllers can be seamlessly integrated into the open automation platform Kemro X.
Flexible, compact and easy to use – the latest product in the KeDrive product family impresses with its high dynamics and precision thanks to high-performance motor control for synchronous, asynchronous, linear and torque motors. With its Ethernet-based field bus interface and CANopen, the KeDrive D5 can also be easily connected to third-party controllers.
By the way: At the SPS, we will also be presenting our brand-new drives configurator for the first time, which – just like our HMI product configurator – will support customers in designing customized solutions!
Innovations for the digital future
We accompany companies on their entire journey into the digital future and will once again be presenting innovations at this year's SPS Drives. In addition to the product configurators in the HMI and Drives sectors, there are other interesting innovations: An generative AI - similar to Microsoft's Copilot - that accelerates software development and code generation. With condition monitoring, machines can be monitored and tested in real time and without external sensors. A web-based diagnostic service enables qualified product insights as well as automation-supported analysis and troubleshooting for quick solutions.
