My wallbox displays "out of service". What does that mean?
Reasons could be:
In connection with software version 2.0.0 (KeContact P30): In rare cases, an update from version 1.19.x to 2.0.0 may not complete correctly, causing the wallbox to remain in the “out of service” status. We currently recommend not performing any further updates to version 2.0.0. A corrected release (2.0.1) will be provided no later than March 20, 2026, and should then be installed on all devices.

The DIP switch 2.5 is ON, but the c-series wallbox cannot find or is not connected to the master charging station. As a result, “out of service” is displayed (only during initial start-up).

Check if connection between the charging stations is correct. If necessary, crimp the LSA+® connection again.

In addition, not all switches are compatible. If necessary, try a different switch and/or check the power supply to the switch.

It must be ensured that only one of the two network interfaces (LSA+® or RJ45) is occupied.

If the network connection is OK, different software versions (between master and client) can be the reason for this message. All charging stations should at first be operated in stand-alone mode and each charging station should be updated to the latest software or firmware version.

With the x-series: When the charging station is started up for the first time, the x-series wallbox may display “out of service” for 8-10 minutes due to internal processes.

If a router with a DHCP server and the internal DHCP server of the x-series are used at the same time: As a result, the c-series devices may not be in the same network as the master charging station, and consequently will not find the master station and display “out of service”. (This could allow the charging stations to operate in different networks.)

"Out of service" indication with solid red LED segment: Update failed. A deep firmware update will help here.

How do I update my P40 Wallbox?
If your P40 Wallbox is registered in the KEBA eMobility Portal, you can initiate a software update directly via the details page of your wallbox in the portal. The update process then runs automatically.
If you are not connected to the KEBA eMobility Portal, the update process runs via the KEBA eMobility app. First download the required software version from the KEBA homepage in the Downloads section on your smartphone and unzip the downloaded archive so that you have access to the file with the extension ".raucb". Now connect to the wallbox in the local network using the KEBA eMobility app. Navigate to the "Software update" section in the settings and use the "File picker" to select the update file (*.raucb) on your smartphone. The update process will then run automatically.

I no longer have my configuration label. How do I get the data I need?
For your information, the configuration label is only supplied with the P30 x-series, company car wallbox, PV EDITION, M20 and P40.

Which systems is the P40 compatible with?
With version 1.1.0, the integration of external Modbus TCP meters is possible and OCPP is available (excluding functions such as reservations and availability changes). With version 1.2.0, the integration into an EMS via Modbus will be possible.

What do the individual error codes mean?

How can the charging station be set to comply with §14a EnWG?
Based on $14a EnWG, the distribution system operator (DSO) in Germany can limit the grid-relevant power consumption of controllable consumption devices to a minimum value of 4.2kW via a control unit if the grid status requires it. The operator of the charging station is obliged to guarantee this controllability for new installations from 1 January 2024.
KEBA KeContact charging stations offer industry-standard interfaces for this purpose, such as the potential-free contact X1, Modbus TCP, and also OCPP for the P30 x-series, the company car wallbox and the PV edition or the new P40 product generation.

Where can I configure the automatic charging session export for my wallbox?
The automatic charging session export can be configured in the KEBA eMobility Portal.

Is excess charging possible in connection with a PV system?
Our c-series and x-series wallboxes as well as the PV EDITION and the company car wallbox can be controlled via the Modbus TCP and UDP network protocols and are therefore suitable for the use of PV surpluses. In order to use your own photovoltaic system for charging, usually a controller is required in addition to the inverter, which takes over the central control of both systems.

What can I do if the charging cable does not unlock?
At DC charging stations, the charging station itself has no influence on the locking mechanism, as the locking actuator is located in the vehicle. If the charging plug cannot be unlocked on the display, try to unlock the charging cable using the car key (unlock). Only as a last step should the mechanical emergency release of the vehicle be chosen (read the vehicle's operating manual for this).
Where can I find the serial number of the DC charging station?
The serial number of the charging station is shown on the type plate and can be found at the bottom near the base area.
There is also a type plate on the inside of the door when you open it.
If you want to read the serial number remotely via the service portal, it can be found in the Parameters --> Location Data and Serial Number tab.
How can I perform updates on the DC charging station?
The software of the KEBA charging station consists of several software components that currently still have to be updated individually.
In the Maintenance --> Software Updates tab, the software modules can be updated. The available version can be searched via "Search", which can be updated via "Update". The following updates are available:
Service Portal (web interface for remote access)
Updates (Visu Core Software - main application of the charging station)
Powernit (application for rectifier control and contactor matrix management)
Chargecontroller (software for the charge controller that manages the CCS communication with the vehicle) --> Update file must be uploaded manually.
How can the charging station be connected to the internet?
Connecting to the internet can happen in various ways, which are described below:
In the delivery state, the KEBA SIM card is inserted and activated by default.
The operation of a customer-specific data SIM is also possible, but the stored APN for the cellular modem must be adjusted.
If the connection has to be done via an Ethernet cable, the network cable has to be connected to the WAN port in the charging station.
An internet connection is not absolutely necessary - but it is essential for maintenance and troubleshooting.
How do I get access to the DC service portal (DC web interface)?
Access to the DC service portal is possible in 3 different ways, which are explained below:
For secure and encrypted remote access, KEBA offers the service tunnel option. This web direct link is provided by KEBA eMobility DC during commissioning. A unique link is provided for each charging station.
Local access on site: If there is no sufficient network infrastructure (internet) available, access via LAN (LAN socket) or WLAN with the charging station is possible. This requires a DHCP setting (obtain IP address automatically) on the access device. If the network has been established locally, the connection can be made via the following URL: https://192.168.111.10:5001
Access via the wired customer network: If the charging station is connected to the wired network via Ethernet, access can also be made that way, provided that the IP address of the charging station is set statically. The connection can be made as follows: https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:6500.
How can I change the prices per kWh or the tariff model displayed on the display with the direct payment option?
The prices or the tariff model can be adjusted in the service portal under Parameters --> Payment system and adopted after a restart.
How can I maintain my ex-Enercharge devices in the future?

How can I tell if the DC charging station is compliant with measurement and calibration law?
Whether a DC charging station is compliant with measurement and calibration law can be recognized by several features:
During the charging process, the following notice is displayed at the bottom right of the display: "Display of measurement value copies. Original display on the measurement capsule display under the charging plug."
There are two recesses for the measurement and calibration law displays on the right under the charging plug, indicating a calibration-compliant billing.
The compliance with measurement and calibration law is also indicated on the type plate in the type code.
How can I restart the DC charging station?
The charging station can be restarted via a software or hardware reset as follows:
If the charging station is connected to a backend, a HW or SW reset can be initiated from the backend, which restarts the charging station software-wise.
From the service portal, the software of the charging station can be restarted via the Maintenance --> System Overview --> ""Restart Charging Station Software"" tab with "Set".
If the software restart via the service portal was unsuccessful, the computer can be restarted via the Maintenance --> System Overview --> Restart Computer tab with "Restart".
As a last measure, the charging station can be restarted on site via the load disconnect switch. After switching off, a time of 10 seconds should be waited before the charging station is switched on again. The key of the charging station is required for the restart on site.
How can I learn local RFID cards?
Local offline customer cards can be learned in the service portal under the Functions --> Card Management tab:
Previously inserted RFID/NFC cards can be transferred to the local customer card database via the "Adopt" button.
It is also possible to import and export the list of customer cards to adopt customer card data.
If a backend is used, it is not necessary to store local customer cards.
Where can I view and download my invoice for the charging process?
Invoices can be downloaded by the end customer via the website eccharging.info or by the operator in the service portal under evaluation.
What can I do if the charging process does not start?
Check the charging limit in the vehicle. Authorize at the charging station and then plug in the vehicle. Check the CCS plug for correct seating (possibly too much tension on the charging cable). Use another charging point.
What can I do if my charging card is not recognized?
First, select the charging point and the payment method "charging card" in the menu selection, then hold the charging card on the NFC reader for a longer time. If the charging card is not approved in the roaming network, use another charging card if available. Alternatively, if available, switch to direct payment with bank card payment
Why doesn't the vehicle reach full charging power?
The charging power depends on several factors:
Very strongly on the outside temperature: Below 10°C, full charging power is usually not available because the battery is still too cold. This depends on the cell chemistry used.
State of Charge (SoC): The higher the state of charge in %, the lower the charging power. From 50 to 80%, significantly lower charging power can occur.
The available connection power on site and possible other consumers: If the power of the charging station is limited, the maximum power is displayed on the right side of the display.
My KeContact P40 is not recognised as Bluetooth
On devices with software 1.1.1, the device is sometimes not displayed as a Bluetooth device when booting up for the first time. A reboot will help here.

Can I set up a charging network with the P40?
A charging network with the P40 is possible. Using the M20 load management controller, multiple P30 and P40 wallboxes can be integrated and controlled within one charging network (up to 200 charging points).
Why is the P40 shown as “Offline”?
If the P40 is displayed as offline in the Keba eMobility Portal/App, please first check if the charging station has an active internet connection. The network connection can be checked in the setup guide of the Keba eMobility App. For a LAN connection, the network LED (marked in red) on the P40 can be used to verify the connection.
What can I do if my wallbox is shown as offline in the portal when I have connected the P30/P40 to my router via Wi-Fi?
We recommend the following steps for verification in the following order:
Check if the P30/P40 has an active Wi-Fi connection in the web interface of the wallbox.
Check the Wi-Fi signal strength at the location where the wallbox is mounted. Note: The P30/P40 switches to hotspot mode as soon as it loses the Wi-Fi connection to the router (and does not attempt to reconnect to the router’s Wi-Fi). For a stable and reliable network connection to your home network (router), we recommend connecting via LAN (Ethernet).
How do I update my P40 Wallbox?

Which charging station (a-, c- oder x-series) is right for me?
The choice of charging station depends on the intended use. We have to distinguish between the simple standalone wallbox (a-series) for pure home use or the connected or smart versions (c- and x-series) that can interact with other systems.

What is the KeContact P30 DE440?
This is a special edition, the Germany Edition. Our KeContact P30 was specially tailored to the requirements of KfW funding (440) and is therefore eligible for it.
How do I know what type of charging station I have and how it is equipped (energy meter, WIFI, RFID…)?
Type and equipment of the charging station can be derived from the
product designation. How this information can be derived is described in the
"Operating Instructions". The product designation (example: KCP30-
ES240032-000-xx) is on the type plate.
What is the minimum / maximum charging power with the KeContact P30?
The minimum power for EVs is usually defined as 6A, below this value charging is not possible for any vehicle, the maximum power is limited to 32A or 22kW(3ph). The power limitation can be changed by using the DIP switches.

Does the KeContact P30 support ISO 15118?
The ISO 15118 standard is considered the key element that makes charging e-vehicles smarter, more efficient and easier.
Our x-series now support this standard in hardware.
In the next step, Plug & Charge will be a software functionality from which all owners of an ISO 15118-capable KEBA charging station can benefit if their electric vehicle supports this feature. As before, new functions will be made available on an ongoing basis by means of free software updates.

Why can’t the KEBA eMobility App on my iPhone connect to the wallbox even though Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi is enabled?
The KEBA eMobility App requires permission to access the local network on iOS. If this permission is disabled, the app cannot connect to the wallbox within your home network, even when Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi is switched on.
How to enable local network access
To allow the app to communicate with your wallbox, enable the local network permission in your iPhone settings:
1.) Open Settings on your iPhone.
2.) Scroll down to KEBA eMobility.
3.) Enable Local Network.
Additional note
Some iOS versions have this setting disabled by default. Without this permission, the app cannot establish a connection to the wallbox.
Which ports need to be allowed in the firewall or the router?
For the communication of the P30-x series with the KEBA eMobility App in the local network via Rest API, port 8443 must be open. To allow the KEBA eMobility App to automatically detect the P30-x series in the network, port 5353 for AVAHI broadcasts must be open.
What personal data is stored in the portal?
- eMail address and name of the user
- Accounts to which the user has access
- All charging sessions authorised with the user or the RFID cards linked to the user
The portal user can view the user-related data stored about them at any time. To do this, they can view the stored data in the portal under "Edit profile" -> "Profile information". In addition, a profile can be deleted directly by the user at any time.
What data is transmitted to the portal?
The wallbox information that can be scanned in the portal is transmitted. This includes Wallbox configuration, RFID cards, wallbox status, charging sessions (time period, energy, RFID card), charging currents, power and charged energy, power profiles set in the portal for the wallbox, etc...
What is the KEBA eMobility App?

What can I do if only a white screen appears in the app after tapping the "Log in or register" button?
Please make sure that a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) is installed on your device and set as the default browser.
Please note that beta versions of browsers may cause this issue.
What is the KEBA eMobility Portal?
The portal provides easy access, control and configuration possibilities for your charging station(s) from your PC or tablet. As an extension to the KEBA eMobility app it offers you more in-depth configuration options and a browser-based interface for the simple management and control of multiple charging points. The KEBA eMobility App shows a white screen. What can I do?
When opening the KEBA App, only a white screen is displayed and the app cannot be used.
Cause:
In some cases, this behavior is caused by the default browser set on the smartphone.
Solution:
Please check the default browser on the smartphone and, if possible, temporarily change it to the regular Google Chrome browser.
Procedure:
• Open the settings on your smartphone
• Navigate to “Apps” or “Default Apps”
• Open the “Browser App” or “Default Browser” section
• Select Google Chrome as the default browser
• Restart the KEBA App
Where can I access the KEBA eMobility portal and the KEBA eMobility App?
The KEBA eMobility portal can be accessed via the following URL: https://emobility-portal.keba.com/. The KEBA eMobility App is available in the Google Play Store and in the Apple App Store.
What is the difference between the KEBA eMobility Portal and the App?
The KEBA eMobility portal is the cloud-based digital service for tablet and PC. The eMobility app, on the other hand, lets you manage your wallbox with your mobile phone. The two products have many similar features - but they are not identical. Some features or settings are only available via the portal. Using both digital services in tandem allows you to make full use of their capabilities.
If you are registered in the app and in the portal and are under the same account, you access the same data and the login details are identical.
What are the basic functions of the KEBA eMobility Portal and the App?
The following functions are identical in the app and the portal:
- Overview of all connected KEBA charging stations
- Start/Stop the current charging session
- Setting the maximum charging power
- View the current status of the charging station: Charging, Ready to charge, Waiting, etc.
- Display the details of the current charging session: time, charged energy, current charging power, etc.
- Viewing the details of the individual charging stations (name, serial number, tags, last charging session, number of all charging sessions to date, total energy charged to date (kWh), registered RFID cards, software version, ...)
- Displaying charging sessions as a table: start/stop time, duration, serial number of the charging station, RFID card number, charged energy (kWh) (if you are not registered, the charging sessions of the last 90 days or 200 charging sessions are displayed for the x-series, PV EDITION and company car wallbox and the last 30 charging sessions for the c-series)
- Display the charging sessions as a graph: kWh per year, month, week
- Add/Remove a wallbox
- Restart of the wallbox (not possible for the c-series)
- Settings (similar to webinterface)
- User management incl. assignment of different user roles and rights

For which charging stations is the KEBA eMobility App and the KEBA eMobility Portal available?
The KEBA eMobility app and portal are compatible with all KEBA KeContact P30 wallboxes of the x-series as well as the company car wallbox and PV EDITION. Soon it will also be possible to integrate client wallboxes (c-series) in a master/client network via an x-series (master wallbox) or the M20 controller. The charging sessions of the client wallboxes can then be viewed in the statistics and exported as reports; direct interaction with the client wallboxes will not be possible for the time being.
It will still be possible to communicate locally with our wallboxes. In this case, our app is available for thP30 Germany Edition (Item No.: 119 857) and the P30 GREEN EDITION Germany (Item No.: 121 218). However, there is only a limited range of functions here, since no energy meter has been installed. The following features can still be used in the app:
- Starting and stopping the wallbox
- Setting the maximum charging power
- Viewing the current status of the charging station
- Time information on the current charging session and past charging sessions
How do I know which charging station I own?
The Setup Guide in the App will help you here. It shows you in just a few steps which charging station of the KeContact P30 you have at home. The Setup Guide only asks you for the product code, which is on the nameplate of each charging station. It has following format KC-P30-E***-*- and tells the Setup Guide which series you have.
Do I have to update my wallbox software in order to use the KEBA eMobility portal or app?
A software update to at least version 1.13 is required for your x-series, company car wallbox in order to be able to use all features in the portal. You can use our Setup Guide in the KEBA eMobility app, which will walk you through the process step by step. For this, however, your wallbox must already be updated to at least software version 1.9.
If your wallbox is currently running on a software version older than 1.9, you must first update the software via the web interface to 1.9 or directly to 1.13. Regular software updates can be easily made via the app or the portal.
Can I also remote control my charging station?
The KEBA eMobility portal and the KEBA eMobility app allow you to control your charging station via the Internet from anywhere, provided your wallbox has the necessary remote connectivity and has been added to your portal account. A c-series in stand-alone operation can only be accessed in the local network.
How can I add a wallbox to my KEBA eMobility Portal account?
To add a wallbox to your portal account, you need the serial number of the wallbox or the password to your P30 web interface. The basic requirement is that you already have an account. To add a wallbox to your account, first connect to the wallbox via the app using the local network in which the app and the wallbox are located. After connecting to the wallbox, the app will ask you whether you want to link the wallbox to your account; alternatively, you will find the option “Add wallbox to portal” in the wallbox menu. Confirm. Now you can access your wallbox via the Internet using the portal or the app.
Your wallbox can only be added to one account. If the wallbox is to be added to another account, it must first be removed from the existing account.
How can I create an account in the KEBA eMobility portal or in the app?
The same login data is used for the KEBA eMobility portal as for the KEBA eMobility app (and vice versa). If you are not yet registered (do not have an account), you will be informed of this in the app or you can register at any time in the app menu. As long as you are not registered, you can only access the wallbox(es) locally (local network). You can use the same login data for the portal as for the app and vice versa. It is also possible to register via the portal first.

What else do I have to consider with the KeContact P30 wallbox variants in connection with the KEBA eMobility portal and app?
Wallboxes of the c- & a-series cannot be added to the portal in stand-alone operation. However, they can still be controlled, configured and managed via the local network using the app.
What technical requirements are necessary to be able to connect to my charging station via the KEBA eMobility Portal or App?
Connection to the wallbox is fast and easy. Especially if you use the Setup Guide of the KEBA eMobility App. Another basic requirement is that you use a charging station that is suitable for App use and has the necessary connectivity (LAN connection or WLAN hotspot).
Connecting to a P30 x-series, company car wall box or PV EDITION: If the x-series has a WiFi hotspot, cabling with an external router is not absolutely necessary. However, the interface (API) must be activated. If you use the Setup Guide in the App, it will be activated automatically. Alternatively, this can also be done in the web interface.
Connecting to a P30 c-series, P30 Germany Edition or P30 GREEN EDITION Germany: If the wallbox is connected to the home network via LAN, the Dip-Switch 1.3 must also be activated and port 7090 must be enabled within the network and then the wallbox must be restarted. Further information on the Dip-Switch settings can be found in the following manual from page 40. If you use the setup guide in the App, this necessary step will be pointed out.
Adding a wallbox to a Portal account must initially be done via the KEBA eMobility App, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. In the App, registration is possible with the same user name and password as in the Portal and vice versa.
Can a P30 c-series be used with the Portal and what are the technical requirements?
No, the c-series cannot be used in stand-alone operation with the Portal. however, they can be used as clients. The KeContact P30 c-series can be connected to an external router via a LAN cable in stand-alone operation as well as a client. This may require laying a cable. We recommend having this done by a specialist (e.g. electrician).
Which wallbox configurations can I make in the KEBA eMobility portal or in the app?
All configurations that can be set via the web interface of the P30 (x-series, company car wallbox, PV EDITION) can also be made via the portal or the app.
Which KEBA eMobility portal and app features can I expect in the future?
We are constantly expanding the range of functions of our portal and app. To ensure that you can continue to benefit from them in the future, it is important to regularly perform all available software updates of the wallbox(es).

The portal and app can be used anywhere.
What should I watch out for when using the KEBA eMobility portal and app with regard to logins and passwords? What is the difference between Web Interface Password, WiFi Hotspot Password and WLAN Password?
You need the password of the web interface to connect to the KeContact P30 x-series, company car wallbox or PV EDITION with the app or the portal. By default, this is the serial number of your wallbox. No password is required for the c-series and P30 GREEN EDITION Germany. The Setup Guide in the app also takes you through the process step-by-step.
If you want to connect to your x-series or company car wallbox via WLAN Hotspot, you must do this before connecting to the App. To do this, go to the WiFi settings on your smartphone, look for the name of the hotspots in the list and connect to it. You can find the hotspot's default SSID and password on the configuration label that came with your charging station.
If you are connected to your x-series or company car wallbox via the WiFi hotspot, you also have the option of connecting it to your local WiFi. You will also be asked in the App if you want to do this. Of course, you need the password for your Wi-Fi network to do this.
Can I use the KEBA eMobility portal or app if I already use an app or portal from my charging station operator?
You can use the portal and the app in parallel to your operator app or portal if you have the password of the web interface. If your wallbox is connected to an OCPP backend, a portal or app connection is not possible. If other systems are active that also control the wallbox, such as smart home or energy management systems, parallel operation may cause problems.
If you have the user password for the P40, you can also use the KEBA eMobility app in parallel to your operator's app or portal via Bluetooth or in the local network with your wallbox.
What do I have to consider when using the KEBA eMobility portal or app at charging stations that I have received from an operator (CPO)?
In most cases it is not possible to connect your KEBA charging station to the KEBA eMobility portal or app if it is operated by a CPO (Charge Point Operator). The reason is that, in this case, you very likely do not have the password of the web interface or that the communication interface OCPP, which is required for communication with the KEBA eMobility portal, is already used by the CPO backend.
Which information do I need to successfully connect my KEBA eMobility portal or app with my charging station?
You need the product code to go through the Setup Guide in the App. For the P30 x-series, company car wallbox and PV EDITION, you also need to know the password for the web interface and the password of the hotspot. For the P40 you need to know the user password of the wallbox and for Bluetooth connection also the PIN.
Is it possible to integrate third-party hardware (wallboxes from other manufacturers)?
No. The KEBA eMobility portal and the app are intended purely for operation with corresponding KEBA KeContact P30 wallboxes.
What costs are incurred when using the KEBA eMobility portal or app?
The use of the basic functions of the portal and the app is and remains free of charge for all users who manage no more than two wallboxes with the portal. Anyone who adds more than two charging stations to the portal or wants to use additional features can also use it free of charge at least until the end of 2024. After that, monthly fees will be charged for these services. All information on fees and available usage options will be published in a timely manner on the portal and at www.keba.com/emobility-portal.
To summarise: The KEBA eMobility portal and app are guaranteed to be available for use in 2024 without fees and for any number of registered wallboxes. A payment obligation will only come into effect as of 2025 at the earliest.
What do I have to consider when setting up my KEBA eMobility Portal or App?
You must note that there are different requirements for connecting to your KEBA charging station and that not all charging stations can be added to the portal. A c-series in stand-alone operation cannot currently be added to a portal/app account. Client wallboxes (c-series) can only be integrated via a master wallbox or an M20 controller. However, local communication with c-series is always possible, although with a limited range of functions.
Do I have to register to use the KEBA eMobility Portal?
Yes, registration is necessary. If you have already registered via the KEBA eMobility app, you can also use this login data for the portal. You will then be in the same account, regardless of whether you use it via the app or the portal. We also recommend that you register because it offers you a number of advantages, such as remote access and control, as opposed to using the web interface or the app with a local connection.
Do I have to register to use the KEBA eMobility App?
No, registration is not required. However, we highly recommend registering because it provides you with several advantages that make managing your charging station even more convenient for you.
How do I create a new user in the Portal?
New users can be created in the portal under “Settings” > “Add user”.
To do this, an email address of the user to be created must be entered; the user will then receive an invitation link to this email address. In addition, the user can be assigned a corresponding role in the portal.
What do I do if problems occur during the charging process?
You will receive notifications in the portal and in the app if faults occur during the charging process or if the status of your charging station changes in the portal and in the app. Troubleshooting can be quite different: Sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting the charging cable, restarting the charging process, restarting the charging station or restarting the app or reloading the portal is enough.
How can I change the name of my wallbox?
You can change the name of your wallbox in the KEBA eMobility app or in the KEBA eMobility portal under Menu > Settings > Device > API Alias or directly in the detailed view of a wallbox.
How does the Portal communicate with the wallbox?
The Portal establishes a remote connection (Internet) to the wallbox via OCPP and communicates with it in this way (applies to P40, P30 x-series, company car wallboxes, PV EDITION).
How does the App communicate with the wallbox?
With a local connection, the app communicates via a REST API in the customer’s local network. The REST API is offered on the wallbox on port 8443. If you are registered and communicate with the wallbox remotely (Internet), communication takes place via OCPP (only x-series, service car wallbox, PV EDITION and M20 are OCPP-capable).
How is communication between the wallbox and KEBA eMobility Portal or App guaranteed? What is the level of encryption?
To communicate with the wallbox, the password of the web interface must be entered. Furthermore, a password is required to activate the REST API. REST API communication is exclusively SSL-encrypted.
Authentication takes place via OAuth2 using an access token and refresh token. The access token is invalidated every 15 minutes.
Where is the data of the KEBA eMobility Portal or App stored?
For the use of the portal and the app (with registration), user-specific data is also stored in the cloud. The servers are stationed in Europe. Data for analysis purposes is stored in services according to our privacy policy.
Are reliability tests carried out for the KEBA eMobility portal or the app and its communication with the wallbox?
The portal and the app regularly pass through several quality gates, before each release as a minimum, which ensures compatibility with different software versions and wallbox variants.
Can I set the “excess PV charging” function in the KEBA eMobility Portal or in the App?
Yes, the excess PV power share of the minimum charging current can be set individually from 0 - 100% in the portal and in the app. This optimises self-consumption even with low PV system output.
Alternatively, a limit value can also be set. The wallbox then mixes solar and grid power when the excess PV power alone is no longer sufficient for the minimum charging power. The necessary settings for excess PV charging, the function and the energy meter connection can be found in the settings of the respective wallbox in the portal and in the app.
Is it possible to activate boost mode in the KEBA eMobility Portal and in the App?
Yes, boost mode can be activated in the portal and in the app.
Boost mode allows the electric vehicle to charge quickly even without much solar power.
The fast charging function (boost mode) combines grid and solar power for maximum charging power when your electric car needs to be charged quickly.
What are power profiles in the KEBA eMobility Portal?
Power profiles can be used to automatically start and stop charging processes at predefined times and with predefined maximum charging power. This allows various charging time windows with defined maximum power to be pre-planned within a day (setting via the KEBA eMobility portal and only for x-series, company car wallboxes and PV EDITION). Performance profiles are currently configured in the UTC time zone.
Why are no charging sessions displayed in the Portal that were carried out before the wallbox was added?
Currently, only charging sessions that were carried out after adding the wallbox are displayed in the portal. Charging sessions that took place before the wallbox was added are not transferred to the portal.
Why can’t I see all my wallboxes in the Portal?
If wallboxes are not displayed in the portal, you must ensure that you are in the correct account (> Account-Switcher). The account switcher is located in the top right-hand corner of the portal.
Click on the current account to switch between different accounts (if available).
Why are the DIP switch settings of the wallbox not displayed in the portal?
The wallbox communicates with the portal using the OCPP protocol. Currently, the OCPP protocol does not provide a way to send the DIP switch information to the portal.
Can I configure a master/client charging network via the Portal?
Yes, you can configure a charging network consisting of an x-series wallbox as master and c-series as clients in the settings of the master wallbox in the portal. However, the clients are not (yet) displayed in the wallbox overview. Configuration of an M20/client charging network is expected to be possible from the beginning of 2025.
How are the times displayed on the Wallbox, App and Portal? Are they synchronised with my local time?
The time is automatically synchronised using the App (via Rest API) and Portal (OCPP). The UTC time zone is currently used for this. The synchronised time is also used for the charging sessions carried out.
How can I change my KEBA eMobility Portal password?
Log out of your KEBA eMobility Portal account (User > Logout). In the login window, you can click on "Forgot password" to change your password.

Why do I only see the product code KeContact P30 in the wallbox detail view?
If the wallbox only sends "KeContact P30" as the product code to the Portal during the boot notification, this is also displayed in the Portal. This can be rectified with a factory reset.
Please note: During this process, the configuration, charging sessions and the RFID cards already programmed on the wallbox will be deleted.
When will I receive push notifications?
The Portal sends push notifications to your mobile phone (if you are logged into the App with the Portal account) when a charging session is started or stopped or the wallbox is in an error state.
How can I register my wallbox in the portal if the wallbox is connected to the Internet via LTE?
During initial commissioning, it is necessary to connect the wallbox to a network router that has Internet access. In the next step, the smartphone must be connected to the router's WLAN. It is then possible to register the desired wallbox in the Portal on the smartphone via the KEBA eMobility App. Once the wallbox has been successfully registered in the Portal, the wallbox's LTE network can be used again.
What can I do if I do not receive an e-mail with the verification code when registering in the KEBA eMobility Portal or in the KEBA eMobility App?
If no e-mail with the verification code is received after entering the e-mail address and clicking on the ‘Send verification code’ button, we recommend going through the following steps in the order listed below:
- Check the email address again for correctness
- Check your spam folder to see if the email may have ended up here
- Use the web interface of the email provider you are using instead of email programs such as Outlook, Windows Mail, mailing apps, etc.

What can I do if adding a wallbox to the Portal fails?
Check whether both the wallbox and the smartphone have internet access. If it is not possible for the smartphone to have internet access (e.g. because you are in the underground car park or the smartphone is connected to the Wallbox WLAN hotspot), we recommend the following procedure:
- Close the app
- Temporarily establish an Internet connection with the smartphone
- Start the app with an active internet connection and log in if you are prompted to do so.
- The Wallbox can then be successfully added to the portal even without an active Internet connection on the smartphone
How can I recognise in the KEBA eMobility app whether I am connected to a wallbox remotely or locally?
In the wallbox overview ("Available Wallboxes"), remote wallboxes are highlighted in green and local wallboxes in white. Furthermore, the globe symbol indicates a remote connection, and the WLAN symbol indicates a local connection.
What can I do if I do not receive a verification code when I register for the KEBA eMobility portal?

If you want to use the service in the eMobility Portal, it is important to know that the service can only be used in the portal if your wallbox is not connected to any other OCPP backend. If the wallbox is already connected to an OCPP backend, or if you intend to do so, please contact your backend operator, as some backend operators offer the option of sending charging reports by e-mail.

What can I do if my wallbox is displayed as offline in the portal when I have connected the P30/P40 to my router via WLAN?
We recommend the following steps for checking in the following order:
- Check if the P30/P40 has an active WLAN connection in the webinterface of the wallbox
- Check the WLAN signal strength at the location where the wallbox is installed.
- ATTENTION: The P30/P40 goes into hotspot mode as soon as it loses the Wi-Fi connection to the router (and does not try to connect to the router's Wi-Fi again)
- For a stable and fail-safe network connection to your home network (router), we recommend connecting via LAN (Ethernet)
How can I add my wallbox to the Portal again if I have archived it in the Portal?
The wallbox can be added to the Portal again via the App by opening the wallbox in the App. Then click on "Add wallbox to Portal" in the wallbox menu (three-dot menu).
How do I update my P40 Wallbox?
If your P40 Wallbox is registered in the KEBA eMobility Portal, you can initiate a software update directly via the details page of your wallbox in the portal. The update process then runs automatically.
If you are not connected to the KEBA eMobility portal, the update process runs via the KEBA eMobility app. First download the required software version from the KEBA homepage in the Downloads section on your smartphone and unzip the downloaded archive so that you have access to the file with the extension ‘.raucb’. Now connect to the wallbox in the local network using the KEBA eMobility app. Navigate to the ‘Software update’ section in the settings and use the ‘File picker’ to select the update file (*.raucb) on your smartphone. The update process then runs automatically.
How can the charging station be set to comply with §14a EnWG?
Based on §14a EnWG, the distribution system operator (DSO) in Germany can limit the grid-relevant power consumption of controllable consumption devices to a minimum value of 4.2kW via a control unit if the grid status requires it. The operator of the charging station is obliged to guarantee this controllability for new installations from 1 January 2024.
KEBA KeContact charging stations offer industry-standard interfaces for this purpose, such as the potential-free contact X1, Modbus TCP, and also OCPP for the P30 x-series, the company car wallbox and the PV edition or the new P40 product generation.
How must the charging station in an apartment block be set up to fulfil the "Right to Plug" requirements and which charging stations are suitable for this?
In order to fulfil the "Right-to-Plug" requirements of the German Condominium Act (WEG), the charging stations must be set with a charging power of 3.7 kW single-phase or 5.5 kW three-phase. Electrical installers can set the charging stations accordingly to fulfil the "right-to-plug" requirements and facilitate installation in multi-party buildings. All current KEBA KeContact charging stations with the latest software fulfil the technical requirements for this. Detailed information on the settings can be found in the respective installation manual.
What should I do if an error is displayed in the App when establishing a Bluetooth connection?
If errors occur when establishing a Bluetooth connection, please try to remove any P40 already paired with your smartphone.

With the license “Package Small” the software can be used with a maximum of 16 charging stations (1x P30 x-series in a charging network with a maximum of 15x P30 c-series as clients).
In general, the license allows that multiple PCs can access / communicate with the same master-client cluster.
In the future, it will be possible to integrate / connect more than 16 KeContact P30 charging stations. For that usage, another license will be necessary (Package Medium, Package Large).
Currently, it is not yet possible to use the solution for multiple charging networks or in combination with an M20 charge management controller.

The IP-address of the wallbox is shown on the display of the P30 x-series at the startup after re-starting the wallbox. When the P30 x-series has been added to the local network (via the web interface or the KEBA eMobility App), the IP address can be seen in the assigned IP-adress list of the DHCP server on the router of that network. Which software version is required on the wallbox to run the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software?
We highly recommend to use the latest version of the P30 x-series software (minimum required software version 1.13) and to use the function in the software to update the wallbox regularly. The software only needs to be updated on the P30 x-series. P30 c-series do not have to be updated, as they will be updated by the P30 x-series.
Which password(s) do I need to connect the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software with the master wallbox?
A password is needed, in order to connect to the master wallbox (P30 x-series). For P30 x-series that have software version 1.14 or lower, the password is by default the serial number of the wallbox. For P30 x-series that have software version 1.15 or higher, the password is by default the webinterface password, that can be found on the configuration label enclosed in the packaging of the P30 x-series.
What has to be considered when invoicing charged energy to customers or employees?

With the entry into force of the Electricity Market Act of 30.06.2016, the definition of the final consumer or the final consumption in §3 No. 25 EnWG has been amended by the words
“the electricity purchased by charging points for electric vehicles is also equivalent to final consumption within the meaning of this Law and the ordinances issued on the basis of this Law”.
As a result of this amendment, natural and legal persons operating charging points will be placed on an equal footing with final consumers. Since this change, operators of charging infrastructure no longer have the status of electricity suppliers or an energy supply company. The electricity supplied to electric vehicles by the charging points is considered as final consumption and not, as previously represented, as electricity purchase within the meaning of the EnWG.
Furthermore, an extension of the exemption catalogue for supplier status (§ 1a StromStV) was made in the Electricity Tax Implementation Ordinance (StromStV). Accordingly, a person who purchases electricity and supplies it exclusively for use by or directly to electrically powered vehicles as final consumers is also not a supplier. This provides legal certainty for the operators of charging points that the sale of electricity to electric vehicles does not trigger any electricity tax obligations of a supplier.
- Austria
In the judgment Ro 2018/04/0010, the Administrative Court found that an e-charging station is a customer's system directly connected to the public distribution network, to which the vehicle to be charged is only connected for a short time during the charging process. The operator of an e-charging station thus concludes, as it were, as an end consumer, a network usage and electricity supply contract, the vehicle owner is not in a contractual relationship with the network operator. Furthermore, the Administrative Court has found that the supply of electricity to vehicles is not tied to a line and that the operator of an e-charging station is therefore neither an electricity trader pursuant according to § 7 para. 1 no. 65 ElWOG 2010, nor an electricity company according to § 7 para. 1 no. 11 ElWOG 2010. This leads to the conclusion that the operators of recharging points do not incur electricity tax obligations of an electricity trader or electricity undertaking by supplying electricity to electric vehicles.
Can I use the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software when my wallbox and/or my PC has no internet connection?
Yes! Only during the installation of the software an active internet connection on the PC is required for validating the license key.
How long will updates for the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software be provided?
Updates will be guaranteed for at least 2 years. Unless otherwise stated, software updates will be provided for longer than 2 years and will be free of charge.
Are there additional costs for using the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software?
No! Only the initial license fee has to be paid.
What if the KEBA eMobility Solution does no longer show data from the Wallbox?
On the Screen “Request to wallbox timeout” click on “Remove Wallbox System”. If this screen is not shown, head to the Configuration section and click on “Remove Wallbox System”. Then click on “Add a new system”. All available P30 x-series should be found. You can also manually add the P30 x-series via an IP-address.
What can I do if the KEBA eMobility Solution no longer displays any data from the wallbox?
On the screen "Wallbox timeout request. Wallbox connection interrupted." click on Remove wallbox system. If this screen is not displayed, go to the "Settings" section, and click on "Remove wallbox system". Then click on "Add new system". All available P30 x-series should be found. You can also add the P30 x-series manually via an IP address.
Which ports must be allowed / forwarded in the Firewall / Router?
For the communication to the P30 x-series via Rest API, port 8443 must be open. For the Application to be able to automatically discover the P30-x series Port 5353 via AVAHI must be open.
What can I do if the software starts but the screen remains white, for example, before the licence key can be entered or the licence key is not accepted?
This could be due to an installed firewall or anti-virus software blocking CodeMeter (ticket management), or the version supplied with our software is not compatible with your system.
Here are the steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
-
Allow communication between CodeMeter and the KEBA eMobility software in your firewall or anti-virus software.
a. Please note that communication between the CodeMeter Runtime Server on your device and a CodeMeter licence server takes place via TCP/IP. Port 22350 is used by default, unless the port has been changed in CodeMeter WebAdmin on the server. If a firewall is active on your server, port 22350 must be enabled for TCP and UDP. During the installation of CodeMeter Runtime, the necessary settings are made in the Windows firewall if the "Network server" option is activated. If your firewall filters on an application-specific basis, you must enable the CodeMeter licence server service 'CodeMeter.exe' on your server. You can find this under Windows in the directory "%Program Files (x86)%\CodeMeter\Runtime\bin". Then define the CodeMeter.exe service as an exception in this firewall. Please note that some antivirus programmes contain firewall functions. If in doubt, please contact the respective manufacturer.
b. To ensure successful communication between the KEBA eMobility Solution and the charging stations, ports 8443 (TCP) and 5353 (UDP) must be open. -
if the problem persists, please go to step 2.

What can I do if the software no longer displays charging stations, reports and RFID cards?
For security reasons, you may be asked for the rest API key of the Master Wallbox in a dialogue window, even if you use the software regularly. This is a normal process. The reason for this is that the Rest API key expires after 30 days. After entering the Rest API password, you can continue to use the software as usual.
If you no longer see any charging stations, reports or RFID cards when you start the software, this may be because the software has not been used for some time. The remaining API key has then probably expired and the software can no longer establish communication with the master wallbox. In this case, the wallbox system must be added again.
To add the wallbox again, please proceed as follows:
- Click on Settings in the KEBA eMobility software.
- Click on Remove wallbox system.
- Confirm with Yes.
- Then add the wallbox as for the initial installation
All data is retained as it is stored on the wallbox.
What do I need to bear in mind with the login information when adding a wallbox system?
When logging into the KEBA eMobility software, the user name must always be ‘admin’. If the user name was changed via the web interface of the corresponding P30 x-series (master), it must be changed back to ‘admin’.
Is the E10 compatible with other manufacturers?
A general answer is not possible. It depends on whether other manufacturers have integrated the E10 into their systems. Please contact the respective manufacturer directly for more information.
How much current can the E10 measure? (amperage)
There are two different versions of the E10:

What can I do if PV surplus charging does not work with my single-phase vehicle?
Note on PV surplus charging:
PV surplus charging only works reliably for single-phase charging vehicles if the charging station is also configured for single-phase charging.
Otherwise, the algorithm used will only detect around a third of the charging power actually required, which can lead to problems when charging starts.
Excess PV charging of both single-phase and three-phase vehicles at the same charging station is therefore only possible to a limited extent.
Note: Manual boost charging is not affected by this and is possible at any time.
What settings are required for surplus charging in single-phase vehicles?
For excess charging to work correctly with single-phase vehicles, it is necessary to switch the charging station to single-phase operation.
For P30:
In the Charging network tab under Charging station parameters - Type of installation
Otherwise, the power values will not be calculated correctly.
Please note that if you switch to a three-phase vehicle, the phase setting must be adjusted again.
How to connect the Fronius Smart Meter TS 65 with Symo Gen24?
Preparation
- Ensure that the inverter is connected to the network.
- Make a note of the IP address of the inverter and enter it in the browser to access the web interface of the inverter.
Logging on to the inverter
- log in as a technician.
Communication settings
- navigate to the menu item Communication.
Activate Modbus
- open the Modbus menu item.
- set Slave as Modbus TCP to ON.

What can I do if the CSV loading report is not formatted correctly in the spreadsheet program?
Please check whether the correct decimal separator is set in the spreadsheet programme. This can be set in the spreadsheet programme (Excel) under File -> More -> Options -> Advanced.
Select ‘,’ if the CSV load report was created in German or ‘.’ if the CSV load report was created in English.
How do I reset the charging stations to factory settings?
To reset your x-series, PV-Edition or company car wallbox to factory settings, please navigate to the "System" tab in the web interface and select "Factory Data Reset". In order not to lose any data such as programmed RFID cards or saved charging sessions, we recommend that you export this data locally to a computer. After resetting, the RFID cards or various configuration settings can be imported again without having to read them in again.
Unfortunately, there is no option to reset the charging station to factory settings for the a-, b-c- and e-series n models
How is the basic configuration done (DIP switch)?
The basic configuration of the charging station (KeContact P30) is done via the DIP switches. Changes to the DIP switch settings only take effect after the charging station has been restarted. In order to restart, press the service button for 2-3 seconds until the first beep or briefly de-energize the charging station via the circuit breaker.

How can I restrict my KeContact P30 charging station to 11kW?
In order to set the current to 11kW (16A), you must set the DSW 1.7 in the first row to “ON”. Then you have to restart using the service button by pressing and holding the service button for 2-3 seconds until you hear the first beep. The wallbox restarts and the new settings will be applied. The wallbox is then set to 11kW (16A) and charging can be carried out.

Is automatic phase switching possible?
Yes, all x-series wallboxes, the company car wallbox and the PV Edition support automatic phase switching between single-phase and three-phase charging with the KeContact S10 add-on product.
What is the release input X1 for?
The release input X1 is a potential-free contact, which enables the charging station to be controlled by external components. The release input X1 can be used, for example, as an external key switch, timer, combination lock, photovoltaic system, etc.
In order to activate the release input X1, the DSW 1.1 must be set to “ON” and the wallbox needs to be restarted.
The available charging current can be reduced to a specific value using the release input X1 in combination with the DSW 2.6.
What is the switching contact output X2 for?
The relay contact X2 is a potential-free relay contact, which can be used as a charging status display (standard use) or as a contactor monitor to de-energize the wallbox with a higher-level switch-off solution.
In order to activate switching contact output X2 , the DSW 1.2 must be set to “ON” and the wallbox needs be restarted.
What does the status LED indicate?
The status LED below the service button indicates the operating status.
It flashes alternately in the colours red-yellow-green, which represent the functioning operating status.
How to restart the wallbox?
The wallbox can be restarted with the service button next to the DIP switches.
The service button has to be held for 2-3 seconds until you hear the first beep so that the wallbox restarts.
It is also possible to restart the wallbox via the WebUI, the app and the portal.
How can I download log files?
Log files only can be downloaded for the P30 x-series.
There are two options:

The log files can be downloaded and made available in the webinterface in the category “System” under “Logging”.

You can also download log files with an empty FAT32 formatted USB stick by plugging the empty FAT32 formatted USB stick into the USB port of the wallbox. The wallbox automatically recognizes the USB stick and loads the log files onto the USB stick. When 'Remove USB' is displayed, the USB stick can be removed.
It is helpful if you send log files with the log level enabled (including measured values).
You can access these as follows: Under User settings (top right) -> Activate log level and then start charging or reproduce the error status. Please also note the time of the charging process.
Which USB sticks can I use for the configuration?
Any USB stick that is empty and formatted in FAT32 format can be used.
Is there an on/off switch on the wallbox?
The wallbox itself does not have an on/off switch, the circuit breaker serves as a power disconnection device.
Are there any possibilities to control the charging current?

How do I adjust the time on the KeContact P30?
To adjust the time in your web browser and on the wallboxes, you can follow the steps below:
- Log in to the web interface of your wallbox.
- Navigate to the "User settings" area or a similarly named section.
- In this section, there should be an option to customise the user settings and time settings.
- Select the correct time zone to ensure that the local time is displayed correctly. Note that the UTC time zone may need to be changed.
- Save the settings to apply the changes.
You can also click on "Determine browser time" in the web interface under "Configuration" and "Device" to update the time and date.
The correct time is automatically recorded in the portal.
How do I configure load management?
The configuration itself is done via our web interface or the KEBA eMobility app in the Charging network/Parameters tab of the charging network.
There, the number of charging stations must be entered, the serial number of the respective charging station entered and set accordingly.
How to build up a charging network?
A local charging network includes 1x P30 x-series as master and up to a maximum of 15x P20/P30 c-series as client.
The client charging stations are connected to the master charging station via LAN using a router or switch. When using a client, the connection between the charging stations can be made directly.
Depending on the product type, small (20), medium (40) and large (up to 200) wallboxes from the c- and x-series can be connected to the KeContact M20.
The communication between master and client charging stations is configured in the webinterface.
The DSW 2.5 must be set to “ON” at all charging stations in the charging network so that the charging stations can communicate with each other.
Can I integrate several P30 x-series and P40 into a charging network?
In addition to the P30 c-series clients, P30x-series and P40 charging stations can be integrated via OCPP into a load management system with KeContact M20 as the master.

Is it possible to connect a master charging station and a client charging station using direct wiring?
The client charging station can be connected to the master charging station via LAN.
In this case, the master charging station must be configured as a DHCP server. The IP address is then assigned to the client charging station by the master charging station.
How do I see if a client is connected to the master?
The display on the LED bar indicates whether a client is connected to the master.
The LED bar can flash green or blue, depending on whether the authorization is active or not.
All charging stations in the network are also displayed in the web interface under the Charging network section and on the status page.
Is it possible to set up a charging network with more than 16 charging stations?
With the x-series it is possible to create a charging network consisting of 16 charging stations. (1x x-series + 15 c-series)
With our charging management controller M20, it is possible (depending on the variant) to set up a network with up to 200 KeContact P30 x- or c-series.
Is it possible to have a dynamic load management?
There is the option of a statically intelligent charging network and dynamic load management:
In (static) load management, the maximum current of the sub-distribution is used for the master device. Depending on the connected vehicles, this distributes the available power evenly to up to 15 client devices.

Is it possible to prioritise a charging station?
It is not possible to prioritise a wallbox in the charging network. The available energy is distributed to all wall boxes in the network in equal distribution mode.
If necessary, a charging station can be prioritised via the backend. However, this depends on the respective backend.
Can I connect several charging stations to each other via WLAN?
Since only the P30 x-series Wallbox has the WiFi module, it is not possible to connect the charging stations to each other via WiFi.
What can I do if the c-series is not (or no longer) recognized in the charging network?
In most cases, this is due to a network problem or missing settings in the WebUi, eMobility or Portal.
Therefore, please check the network setup again (LSA+, cable, switch, router).
Also check whether the DSW settings may have been changed (DSW2.5 must be set to "on").
What does the LED segment indicate?
The LED bar indicates the current operating status of the charging station. It consists of 4 segments (S1 to S4), which can light up or flash in different colours together or individually. The LED bar can only be seen when power supply is activated.

Depending on whether a load management and/or backend is available, the LED segments indicate the availability of the systems:
The information does not depend on the colour of the LED segments. The colour (green or blue) only indicates whether the authorization is activated.
What is an error code?
The error code provides information about the status of the charging station in the event of an error. This consists of a blue/red or white/red combination. Is it possible to disable the LED bar?
The lighting of the LED segments cannot be deactivated. The charging station has a brightness sensor.
Does the KeContact P30 have a display?
Devices with an energy meter (P30 c-series and x-series) have an (LED dot matrix) display. 
What is shown on the display?
Depending on the operating status, the display can indicate different information (e.g. software version, IP address, authorization request,...). However, the main task is to display the status of the internal energy meter. The display shines through the housing and is only visible when the power supply is active.

My wallbox displays "out of service". What does that mean?
Reasons could be:
-
The DIP switch 2.5 is ON, but the c-series wallbox cannot find or is not connected to the master charging station. As a result, “out of service” is displayed (only during initial start-up).

Check if connection between the charging stations is correct. If necessary, crimp the LSA+® connection again.
-
In addition, not all switches are compatible. If necessary, try a different switch and/or check the power supply to the switch.
-
It must be ensured that only one of the two network interfaces (LSA+® or RJ45) is occupied.

If the network connection is OK, different software versions (between master and client) can be the reason for this message. All charging stations should at first be operated in stand-alone mode and each charging station should be updated to the latest software or firmware version.

With the x-series: When the charging station is started up for the first time, the x-series wallbox may display “out of service” for a few minutes due to internal processes.
-
If a router with a DHCP server and the internal DHCP server of the x-series are used at the same time: As a result, the c-series devices may not be in the same network as the master charging station, and consequently will not find the master station and display “out of service”. (This could allow the charging stations to operate in different networks.)

"Out of service" indication with solid red LED segment: Update failed. A deep firmware update will help here.
Does the charging station have a meter?
Certain variants of the c- and x-series and the special editions such as the company car wallbox and the PV edition already have an integrated meter.
Whether and how this meter is calibrated can be determined via the product designation.
The product designation is on the type plate.
The M&E meter is marked in the product designation with an L.
What is the difference between MID and ME certified meters and when do I need a certified meter?
The main difference between MID and ME devices is the validity of their meter data. ME devices have a built-in long-term memory in which the ME-relevant measurement data sets are stored. With an OCPP connection, these are also transmitted to the backend. In Germany, measured values from MID devices do not form a legally valid basis for charging energy costs to third parties. Energy meters that can be used for further billing must comply with the measurement and calibration law (ME). In Germany, measured values from MID or non-verified meters are used for information purposes only.
What is the public key and where can I find it?
You will only find a public key on wallboxes with an ME meter.
This can be read from a QR code on the type plate of the wallbox.
How long will charging sessions be stored in the measuring capsule?
More than 20,000 measurement data sets are saved and stored in the certified measuring capsule. The memory is designed as a ring buffer. After the last memory space has been used, the oldest data record will be overwritten. The dimensioning of the memory allows a data record to be kept for 10 years when having 5 charging sessions per day.
How long will the calibration be valid? Where can I have the charging station recalibrated?
The calibration is valid for different time period depending on the country. In order to obtain more detailed information here, please contact the calibration office of your country.
The responsible calibration office must be contacted for subsequent recalibration.
Who can I contact in case of an error?
The first point of contact in the event of a problem is the dealer from whom the wallbox was purchased or the electrician who installed the charging station.
If the situation exceeds the knowledge of the electrician, he contacts our trained sales partners. Our sales partners are able to support you both technically and commercially.
In the event that the expertise of the 2nd level support cannot rectify the error, the technical support from KEBA supports the end customer with competent help.

How does the repair process work?
In the event that an error is more serious and cannot be rectified on site, the charging station must be sent in for repair.
The repair can be handled either by the contractual partner/wholesaler from whom the wallbox was purchased, or by sending the defective device directly to an electrician for repair.
Is there a replacement for defective charging stations?
In addition to the option of sending them in for repair, we offer our sales and installation partners in Austria and Germany a voluntary replacement device for defective KeContact wallboxes as an exclusive on-top solution. Requesting and providing the replacement device is quick and easy.
The replacement device is free of charge in the event of a warranty claim. If the defect is outside the warranty (warranty period has been exceeded or a repair case has been identified due to incorrect installation or improper operation), the costs of the new device are covered by payment of a lump sum. The replacement service can only be requested via the selling or installing electrician of the installed KEBA charging station. Uninstallation of the defective charging station and installation of the new charging station are carried out by the electrician who made the request.
As an additional upgrade, KEBA offers installers and dealers (for a flat-rate service fee) the replacement of the replacement device by a service partner. Together with our partners, we offer this service throughout the DACH region (Austria, Switzerland, Germany).

I lost the configuration label, where can I get a new one?
If the configuration label is lost, a new label can be requested from KEBA technical support. To do this, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased the wallbox and tell them the serial number of the charging station.
ATTENTION: The configuration label is only supplied with the x-series.
When do I use the LSA+® connection and when do I use the RJ45?
The Ethernet1 connection X4 is designed as a terminal block in LSA+® technology. Hard-wired communication (e.g. for SmartHome or a charging network) may only be carried out on this LSA+® connection. The Ethernet2 connection X3 (RJ45) is only used for diagnostic purposes on the device (debugging).
At DE 440 there is only RJ45 and can therefore be used.
It is not possible to operate both connections at the same time.
The LSA+® interface is missing at my charging station.
The a-series, Germany Edition, GREEN EDITION Germany only have a RJ45 socket installed.
How do I recognize whether there is a network connection to the charging station?
Checking the LAN connection
If there is a network connection, the network activity LED lights up/flashes at irregular intervals.
If this LED remains dark, there is a connection problem,
in the WebUI of the P30 x-series, the status page also shows which network connection is active.
How do I integrate the charging station into my local network?
There are 2 options here:

Via LAN: A LAN connection to a router/switch needs to be created for this.

Via WLAN (x-series only): Several settings must be made here in the webinterface: In the webinterface of the x-series under Configuration/Network Connection, the parameter WLAN/WiFi can be set to ON. If this setting is selected, further setting options are displayed.
Further fields must then be filled out here in order to configure the connection to the WLAN router.
Here you can also search for the router to which a connection should be established.
If the settings have been entered correctly, scroll down and press the "Accept" button to apply the settings.

How do I enable the local DHCP server?
With the x-series, the local DHCP server can be set to ON/OFF in the webinterface under Configuration/Network Connection.
Which IP addresses may be assigned to the charging station?
The range 192.168.25.xxx must not be assigned.
The range 192.168.2.xxx must not be assigned.
The range 192.168.42.xxx must not be assigned.
Which routers / switches can be used?
Any commercially available router or switch can be used for a network with our wall boxes.
We are not limited to any particular manufacturer.
How should the routers / switches be configured?
Information on this can be found in the configuration manual of the routers / switches.
What must be considered when using a router?
Port forwarding has to be activated. The router itself is a DHCP server, which means that it independently assigns IP addresses to the devices in the network. The local DHCP server on the Wallbox (x-series) has to be set to OFF.
Can I connect two master charging stations with an activated internal DHCP server to the same switch?
No, this is not possible. Only one device in the network is allowed to work as a DHCP server at a time.
Where can I see the MAC address?
With the x-series, the MAC address is displayed either in the webinterface on the status page of the wallbox or in the Rdiper interface. The MAC address of the hotspot is specified on the configuration label.
With the c-series, the MAC address is displayed in the simplified webinterface.
How can I set up the IP address?
P30 c-series without network connection: If the charging station is not part of a network, the IP address can be set using the DIP switches
(see “Installation Manual”). An IP address in the range from 192.168.25.11 to 192.168.25.26 can be assigned for the charging station.
P30 c-series with network connection: If the charging station is in a network (master/client network), the IP address is assigned automatically
by the router or by the master charging station (x-series with activated DHCP server). When assigned by the master charging station, the IP address cannot be changed. If assigned by the router, the IP address can be changed in the router's user interface. This is done by assigning the desired IP address to the MAC address of the respective charging station.
P30 x-series with connection to a router: If the charging station is connected to a router, the IP address is automatically assigned by the router. The IP address can be changed in the router's user interface by assigning the desired IP address to the charging station's MAC address.
P30 x-series with activated DHCP server: If the local DHCP server of the charging station has been activated, the charging station automatically receives the IP address 192.168.42.1. This IP address cannot be changed.
Where can I see the IP address?
The IP address is indicated on the display when starting the wallbox. (Provided that a display is installed).
For the x-series, company car wallbox and the PV edition, the IP address is also specified in the web interface on the status page.
When the Wallbox is connected to a router, the IP address is also displayed in the router's interface.
How can the IP address of clients be determined?
The IP address is shown on the display when the wallbox is started, in the respective router interface and/or in the WebUI of the x-series .
Where can I find the access data for my x-series, PV Edition and company car wallbox?
The configuration label (silver sticker) is located in the packaging in the wallbox manual. The information for the hotspot connection is displayed there.
Does the WiFi connection and the use of the access point work at the same time?
No, this is not possible. If the WiFi connection setting is set to ON, the access point will automatically switch to OFF.
How do I set up the WiFi connection to the router?

The number of wall boxes set in the charging network must first be set to 1. This is set in the Charging Network tab. If there is no charging network, the setting is already set to 1.

Select Apply.

How can I access the charging station remotely?
This is possible via a VPN connection to the network and the IP address of the wallbox. A connection to the wallbox can also be established via a backend. The wallbox receives a public IP address via mobile radio (GSM), which can also be used to access the web interface.
What happens when the 3G mobile network is switched off?
Earlier versions of the KeContact P30 x-series were available with 3G mobile radio. As 4G networks are now progressively replacing older 3G networks, the latter will also be switched off completely. The KeContact P30 will then switch to one of the 2G standards as a solution, which will continue to be available.
The following standards are supported:
- Technologies: GSM, EDGE, GPRS
- Bands: GSM-850, E-GSM-900, DCS-1800, PCS-1900
The operation of the devices is generally not affected by this (depending on the reception quality). However, local interfaces are recommended for software update packages (larger data volumes).
It is advisable to clarify the available 2G standards with the selected mobile phone operator, whereby EDGE and GPRS enable significantly higher data rates than GSM. However, local interfaces (LAN/WLAN) are recommended for software update packages (larger data volumes).
What is an OCPP backend for?
The P30 x-series offers the option of being connected to a central management system via the “Open Charge Point Protocol” (OCPP). OCPP as an open application protocol makes it possible to connect any central management system to the charging station, regardless of the manufacturer or supplier.

The consumption values for each RFID card (user) are added up and billed here. The charging sessions are stored centrally.

Load management can also be implemented via a backend. The specification for the amount of charging current comes from the OCPP backend.

Is there a KEBA backend?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a backend from KEBA. Since this is an open-to-use protocol, we are compatible with all common backend providers.
What options are there for an OCPP backend connection?
The wallbox of the x-series can either be connected to the backend
- via mobile communications (GSM 4G) or
- an external router with a DHCP server (LAN or WLAN).
How do I see if the master charging station is connected to the OCPP backend?
The display on the front of the charging station provides information about which communication connection has been established.
If the connection to the backend is active, all 4 segments of the LED bar flash green and blue.
In addition, the status of the connection to the backend can be seen in the webinterface of the x-series under the
Status tab using the so-called “heartbeat”.
How much data can be expected?
The data volume for communication via OCPP 1.5 SOAP is between 10 and 50 MB per month and depends on the number of loading sessions.
What should be considered when setting up an OCPP backend and how should it be set up?
The following must be observed when connecting to an OCPP backend:

It is recommended to assign a static IP address to the master charging station in the network based on the MAC address of the device.

The OCPP backend is usually not in the same network, so the charging station must be assigned a “public IP address” that is routed to the internal IP address (NAT).

The firewall has to be configured in such a way that communication between the charging station and the OCPP backend is possible.

Which RFID cards/RFID tags can I use?
Our charging stations KeContact (P30 & P40) with included reader accept cards/RFID tags according to ISO 14443 or ISO 15693. These are the commercial standards on the market.
Why is my RFID card not recognized?
An incorrect format has been used.
The RFID card is not in the local whitelist. In order for the RFID card to be recognized, it must be taught in.
For charging network (x-series): The RFID card must be taught in at the master charging station in the webinterface.
With a single charging station (c-series): The RFID card must be taught in directly at the charging station.
When connecting to an external OCPP backend: The RFID card is not in the whitelist of the OCPP backend. In order for the RFID card to be recognized, it must be stored on the OCPP backend.
How many RFID cards can be taught in on a P20 or P30?
P20 and P30 a- and c-series: up to 20 RFID cards
P30 x-series: up to 1,024 RFID cards
P30 x-series with connection to an OCPP backend: unlimited
I already have a KEBA charging station without an RFID function and would like to expand it with a charging station with an RFID reader. Is this possible?
It is not possible to operate different authorization modes in a charging network.
There is either the option of operating the entire network with or without authorization.
How can I protect my charging station from unauthorized access?
To protect against unauthorized use, your wallbox offers different access options. Either via the integrated RFID reader or through external access authorization using X1
Can I retrofit the RFID reader?
Our charging stations of the P30 are optionally equipped with an RFID reader, it is not possible to retrofit one.
How can I teach the RFID cards to the wallbox?
There are different ways to teach in RFID cards. With the a- and c-series, this works directly at the charging station.
With the x-series or company car wallbox, this process is performed via the webinterface or KEBA eMobility app in the "RFID cards" tab. Cards can be taught in, edited and deleted there. Is it possible to use an external GSM antenna?
No, our wallbox does not have any extra connections for an external antenna.
What options do I have if there is poor cellular reception (e.g. underground car park)?
We recommend setting up a GSM/LTE-capable router on an upper floor and establishing a connection between the router and the wallbox via LAN.

Which upstream residual current circuit breaker (FI/RCD) do I need?
The KeContact P30 wallbox has integrated DC leakage detection with a triggering threshold of 6 mA (DC), which ensures safe operation of an upstream RCD type A on the connection side. As a result, no expensive upstream type B residual current circuit breaker is required.
How should the circuit breaker be dimensioned?
When dimensioning the circuit breaker, the increased ambient temperatures in the control cabinet must also be taken into account! Under certain circumstances, this may make it necessary to reduce the charging current specification in order to increase system availability. The nominal current must be determined according to the information on the type plate in coordination with the desired charging power (DIP switch settings for charging current specification) and the supply line. I(DIP switch) ≤ I(protective circuit breaker) ≤ I(supply line) ≤ I(nominated current)
What environmental conditions is the KC-P30 designed for?
The P30 can easily be operated both indoors and outdoors at a temperature range between -25 degrees Celsius and +50 or +40 degrees (at 22kw) Celsius.
How high does the connected load per charging station have to be?
There is no defined value for the connected load, the value depends on the connected load provided. The connected load shall not exceed 32 A per charging station. The maximum permissible current (10 A, 13 A, 16 A, 20 A, 25 A, 32 A) is configured via the DIP switches in the housing.

When is the charging station ready for use?
As soon as the charging station flashes green every 3 seconds, it means that it is ready for use.
Does the charging station need maintenance?
The P30 is basically maintenance-free, but the owner must regularly check for defects in the charging socket or charging plug (including charging cable) and for damage to the housing (visual inspection).
Do I need a test device/simulator for commissioning?
No electric car or expensive vehicle simulator is required for commissioning or system testing, as our wall box has its own commissioning mode.
What measurements are required during commissioning?
In commissioning mode, the device carries out a self-test (locking, contactor control, current measurement, ...).
In addition, the contactor is switched on for a limited time in this mode, even when the vehicle is not connected, in order to enable an initial test. A normal charging process is not possible in the commissioning mode.
Other necessary measurements are always dependent on the respective installation location. You can usually get the exact requirements from your electrician.
How can the DC fault detection be checked during initial commissioning?
The charging station has an initial start-up mode. In this mode, a check with an appropriate vehicle simulator or a suitable test device is possible.
What to do if the supply terminal cannot be opened?
A screwdriver with the following is required to open the supply terminal

How long does the wallbox take to start up for the first time?
When starting up the KeContact P30 for the first time, the boot process can take up to 15 minutes.
Which versions of KeContact P30 can be integrated in a smart home?
Our c- and x-series wallboxes can be controlled via the network protocols Modbus TCP and UDP, which requires DE440.
How to integrate the KEBA KeContact P30 in a smart home?
In order to activate the smart home interface, the DSW 1.3 must be activated for UDP/Modbus TCP control.
INFORMATION:
When DWS 1.3 is disabled, UDP registries still can be read but not written!

Can the DE440 editions be integrated into a smart home?
The KfW wallbox (DE440 & DE440 GREEN EDITION) is a KeContact P30 Germany Edition that meets the requirements of KfW funding and has the communication interfaces UDP and Modbus TCP.
Those interfaces enable the remote control of this wallbox, for example via a UDP controller within a smart home.
The vehicle follows the PWM signal that is sent by the wallbox and reflects the maximum charging current.
In contrast to a KeContact P30 c-series, however, no meter is installed - the amount of energy charged and the current charging capacity cannot be retrieved from the wall box.
In addition, the display and the ability to connect the wallbox to a master are also missing.
It is therefore a pure stand-alone device.
For excess or photovoltaic-optimized charging, we recommend the P30 c- and x-series, as they have full UDP and Modbus/TCP functionality.
Is excess charging possible in connection with a PV system?
Our c- and x-series wallboxes can be controlled via the network protocols Modbus TCP and UDP and are therefore suitable for the use of excess PV charging. In order to use your own photovoltaic system for charging, usually a controller is required in addition to the inverter, which takes over the central control of both systems.

How can forced charging be implemented when there is not enough excess?
Forced charging is possible using an external controller in combination with the external release contact X1.

If a wall switch is installed and connected to X1 in the charging station, when this switch is actuated (activation), charging is enabled via the controller in the amount of the configured max. charging current, regardless of PV production. The setting needs to be activated on the controller interface.
Is dynamic house connection monitoring possible?
Yes, dynamic house connection monitoring is possible both in stand-alone mode (x-series only) and in a charging network using a meter.
House connection monitoring allows the charging vehicle to be dynamically provided with the available charging current, depending on the other consumers on the house connection. This ensures that the house connection fuse is not overloaded and that a lower charging capacity than would be possible with the vehicle and the installation does not have to be selected.

Does dNode P1 work with my electricity meter?
dNode P1 is typically compatible with a wide range of electricity meters that support the standard P1 connection protocol. To ensure compatibility with your specific electricity meter, it is recommended to consult the product manual or contact your provider (your DNO).
Please note that the P1 port on the electricity meter must also function as a power supply for a P1 device. The Swedish industry recommendation states 5VDC and 250mA. dNode P1 operates comfortably well below 250mA.
Given the above, dNode P1 works with the following electricity meters:

Where do I connect my dNode P1?
If your electricity meter is equipped with a compatible P1/HAN port, the dNode P1 should be connected to it. It's an RJ12 socket. Please use the provided cable for this purpose.
If I have connected my dNode P1 to my electricity meter but do not see a blue light and cannot find the device's WiFi, what could be the reason?
If you have connected your dNode P1 to your electricity meter but do not see the blue light and cannot find the device's WiFi, there could be several possible reasons for the issue. Here are some common problems and solutions:

Activated meter
Have you activated your electricity meter's P1/HAN port? Some electricity network companies require customers to request activation of this port. -
Power supply
Your electricity meter must supply power to the device (5V DC). Please check if your electricity meter is capable of providing power to P1 devices. -
Cables and connections
Make sure that all cables are correctly connected both to the feeder and to the dNode P1 unit. Double check that the connections are secure and that there are no loose connections. -
WiFi configuration
If the device is not emitting any WiFi network, it may be because the WiFi function is not activated. Try resetting the device by unplugging it and plugging it back in. -
Faulty device
If the above measures do not resolve the issue, it is possible that your dNode P1 unit is defective. In that case, you may need to contact the manufacturer or retailer for support or a replacement
I can't find my dNode P1's WiFi?
If you have connected your device correctly, you should be able to detect a WiFi network named 'dNode P1'. It may be because your meter is too far away from your computer, smartphone, or any other device you are trying to connect from.
Where is the P1 node configured?
The dNode P1 must be selected in the WebUI under the "Configuration" category in the external TCP meters.

If the update via WLAN or LAN was not successful, you can try to carry it out via USB.
Instructions for the USB update:

- Use a USB stick with a maximum storage capacity of 32 GB.
- Format the stick with the FAT32 file system.
Copy update files:
- Create a folder on the USB stick with the name "UPD".
- Copy the .keb file from the download area into this folder.
Serial updates:

How are software updates to be carried out?
Update the x-series
A software update in the form of a *.keb file is required to bring the charging station software up to date. The software update can be done via USB stick, LAN, an OCPP backend or the web interface. A software update updates both the software and the firmware of the charging station. Detailed instructions with the new features (release notes) are included in the update package.
ATTENTION
Software updates are to be carried out in stages!
It can only be upgraded to the next higher version one at a time. For example, if SW 1.10 is available, it must first be updated to SW 1.11 before SW 1.12 can be installed. Otherwise the update will be cancelled. Therefore, first check which software version is installed on the charging station.
Under no circumstances shall the power supply be interrupted during the software update!
This can destroy the software on the charging station and make further operation impossible.
INFORMATION
The software update can last up to one hour. The update process is indicated by the LED bar slowly flashing in orange.
After the software update, the charging station will restart automatically. The LED bar flashes blue or green depending on the authorization setting.

Software update via USB stick (P30 x-series):
- Download the latest software for the charging station (*.keb file).
- Plug the USB stick into a PC.
- Format the USB stick with FAT32.
- Create a new directory on the USB stick with the name "UPD".
- Copy the downloaded *.keb file into the “UPD” directory.
- Plug the USB stick into the USB port of the charging station. Update will start automatically.
Software update via webinterface (P30 x-series):
- Download the latest software for the charging station (*.keb file).
- Log into the webinterface of the charging station.
- Select “Software Update” under “System” in the menu bar.
- Upload the current software using the “Choose a file ...” button.
- Start the update process with the “Upload & Install” button.

An FTP link is required for a software update via an OCPP backend.

What is the webinterface and what is it used for?
The P30 x-series has the so-called extensive webinterface. The P30 a- and c-series have the so-called simplified webinterface.
The necessary settings for the communication of the charging station are configured in the extensive webinterface of the P30 x-series. The entire charging network is configured via the P30 x-series.
The webinterface is used, for example, to read out the charging sessions, to teach in the RFID cards, to carry out software updates, to carry out configuration settings, ...
The simplified webinterface of the P30 a- and c-series only provides status information such as: the total energy, the energy of a charging session, the power, the voltage, the current, the status and the basic logs. This web interface can only be read, no configurations and settings can be made here.
How can I connect to the webinterface?
A login is required to be able to use the extensive webinterface of the P30 x-series. The login data for the first login in the webinterface are on the configuration label. After the first login, the password must be changed for security reasons. The password can be reset with the recovery key.
A network connection is required to access the webinterface of the master charging station. The network connection can be established via LAN, WLAN, WLAN access point or mobile connection (e.g. with a PC or mobile device). The webinterface of the master charging station can be accessed by entering the IP address of the master charging station in a web browser. The IP address of the master charging station is determined differently depending on the connection type. It is shown on the display when the charging station is restarted while it is booting up.
The easiest way to access the webinterface is via the WLAN access point. Our wall box provides an integrated WLAN network. To do this, go to the WLAN settings of your end device (PC, smartphone, ...) and connect with the SSID that has the serial number of the wallbox as name.
The default IP address of the WLAN access point is 192.168.2.1. Enter it in your web browser and then log in.
To be able to use the webinterface, a login is required.
The login data for the first login in the webinterface are on the configuration label. The configuration label is in a bag that is included with the mounting hardware.
After the first login, the password must be changed for security reasons. The password guidelines must be observed:
at least 10 characters long
at most 2 identical characters follow each other
at least 3 of the following criteria are met: 1 capital letter (A−Z) 1 lowercase letter (a−z) 1 digit (0−9) 1 special character
The simplified webinterface of the P30 a- and c-series can be accessed via network access. The simplified webinterface can be accessed via the IP address of the charging station.
P30 a- and c-series without network connection:
If the charging station is not part of a network, the IP address can be set using the DIP switches. An IP address in the range from 192.168.25.11 to 192.168.25.26 can be assigned for the charging station. After a restart the IP address is indicated on the display.
P30 c-series with network connection: If the charging station is in a network (master/client charging network), the IP address is assigned automatically by the router or by the master charging station (P30 x-series with activated DHCP server). When assigned by the master charging station, the IP address cannot be changed. If assigned by the router, the IP address can be changed in the router's user interface. This is done by assigning the desired IP address to the MAC address of the respective charging station.
Where can i see my charging sessions?
In the WebUI, the x-series offers the option of displaying the last 200 charging sessions. The charging sessions of the last 90 days can be exported as a *.csv file using the “Export” button. Different filter functions allow searching for different charging sessions. For example, you can filter for charging sessions that have a specific start date or where a specific RFID card was used.
This overview, for example, makes it possible to easily settle accounts with the employer.
Why am I not receiving the exported loading sessions by e-mail?
There are a number of reasons why your loading sessions have not arrived by e-mail:
- Is the e-mail address entered correctly in the WebUI?
- Was the registration confirmed in the confirmation email?
- This is to avoid spam and ensure that it really is this user.
- Registration must be confirmed within 24 hours.
- Are the e-mails possibly ending up in the e-mail provider's spam folder?
- Is the wallbox defective or offline?
- In this case, nothing will be sent at the end of the month, as the mechanism for triggering or e-mail is then also offline.
- Is it not currently the end of the month?
- Charging sessions are only sent at the end of the month
