Today's innovations are the foundation for tomorrow's success!
Appreciation
The innovations of today are the foundation for the successes of tomorrow - this was the motto of the 31st Upper Austrian Innovation Award. From a total of 88 submissions, a high-calibre jury awarded 3 winners in each of the categories of small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies and research institutions.
The ceremony took place on 10 October at the ORF Regional Studio Upper Austria and the award was presented by the Governor of Upper Austria, Thomas Stelzer, Markus Achleitner, Councillor for Economy and Research and Martin Bergsmann, Chairman of the Technology & Innovation Strategy Group of the Industry Division of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
We are also particularly proud that KeBob has been nominated for the State Award for Innovation 2025.
What is behind KeBob?
KeBob represents the next generation of digital AI assistance systems and was developed specifically for safety and well-being in public spaces such as foyers or self-service zones in banks. The system's pre-trained artificial intelligence is designed to recognise many scenarios in real time and act proactively. For example, KeBob asks people to keep a greater distance to prevent their pin from being spied on at the ATM or asks motorcyclists to remove their helmets when entering the foyer. The assistance system also recognises emergencies: for example, if a person has fallen, they are actively approached and help is called if necessary. KeBob also reacts to possible vandalism or asks uninvited overnight guests or people who use foyers as meeting places to leave the area.
Initial experience shows that KeBob (the intelligent, AI-based digital assistance system) radiates a positive presence to visitors in self-service foyers, for example, through its voice communication and its ‘visual’ face, and has met with a high level of acceptance.
