The first KePol parcel locker started operation in February 2022 in the Attica region and the second in the largest Greek city of Salonica. When selecting the parcel lockers, particular attention was paid to contemporary security requirements, ease of installation, robustness and ease of operation. With this intelligent solution supplied by KEBA, ACS offers its customers a user-friendly and secure round-the-clock service for the collection and return of parcels.
Reliable technology is crucial
Reliable technology and ease of use are crucial for smooth 24/7 package management and customer acceptance. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of logistics automation in Europe, KEBA plays a pioneering role and sets the benchmark in terms of reliability.
Jürgen Kusper, CEO of KEBA Handover Automation GmbH about the successful agreement: "In a country where extreme weather conditions prevail in some cases, durable and robust parcel stations are a prerequisite for smooth round-the-clock operation. With the KePol FS 09, ACS has opted for a parcel locker solution with maximum flexibility and flexible outdoor installation. We are very pleased that ACS has chosen our sales partner Mobile Technology and thus the KePol parcel lockers."
Flexibility all along the line
Flexibility and modularity are critical for success where long-term investments are made. The pandemic has once again taught us how important it is to adapt quickly to changing conditions. Kusper comments: "It is important to us that postal service companies can flexibly adapt their parcel lockers to the needs of their customers, both in terms of installation options and expandable modules. This is exactly the flexibility we offer ACS with the KePol parcel lockers."
Intuitive operation is key for success
The selected parcel lockers can be installed both outdoors and indoors and are equipped with a touchscreen for password entry and a POS terminal for card payments. The systems are also configured with an alarm system, a camera, and LED lighting to ensure optimum ease of use and secure pickup and return of parcels and goods even in the dark. The intuitive operability applies - in line with KEBA's "Easy to Use" principle - to all stakeholders: Customers, delivery companies and service technicians.
"The expertise of KEBA is unique and valuable due to the numerous and variable installations they have delivered to their customers all over the world."
George Boukidis, Business Solution Specialist of ACS stated: “Several suppliers have shown an interest to cooperate with ACS, but we chose KEBA, because they proved their capabilities. They were more than willing to accommodate all our questions, plus their responses were faster. The expertise of KEBA is unique and valuable due to the numerous and variable installations they have delivered to their customers all over the world. When it comes to parcel lockers, KEBA is considered one of the undisputable world leaders with more than 20.000 parcel lockers in operation. All these recommendations speak for themselves.
Successfull rollout
The rollout of the parcel lockers started in July 2022 and until today, around 60 stations have been installed in Athens and Salonica and more specifically, at PolisPark and Cityzen parking stations, My Market supermarket and Shell gas stations. By the end of 2022, 100 ACS Smartpoint Lockers will be in operation.
