DHL
A KePol customer from day one – KEBA manufactures the DHL “Packstation”
DHL’s “Packstation” was the world’s very first automated parcel locker.
Back in 2000, in the early days of online shopping, KEBA’s automation experts got together with German postal operator Deutsche Post DHL to come up with a sustainable, efficient and customer-friendly solution for dealing with the steadily increasing volume of packages being sent.
Just a few months later in 2001, the first Packstation automated parcel locker was installed and piloted at DHL in Germany, kicking off a success story that has continued ever since.
Following many years of successful collaboration, KEBA still manufactures the DHL Packstation to this day.
Österreichische Post
KePol with a home advantage
Österreichische Post is Austria’s postal service and also relies on KEBA’s delivery lockers for its self-service areas. The company aims to provide the best possible customer service at all times. Our package lockers make it even easier for customers to receive parcels as well as large or registered deliveries.
One of Österreichische Post’s parcel lockers is even located directly at the KEBA Group AG premises at Gewerbepark Urfahr.
GLS
Network of package lockers for South-East Europe
GLS aims to provide its customers with an effective and convenient delivery service whilst also cutting CO2 emissions.
KEBA is currently supplying an end-to-end solution comprising more than 2,000 KePol FS10 machines for use outdoors, which are currently in operation in Croatia, Hungary and Romania. The scope of this project includes hardware, software, integration into the GLS back-end system, integration of the POS terminal and local services.
In light of the success achieved so far, GLS has extended its collaboration with KEBA and is planning to install additional parcel lockers in South-East Europe.
ACS
KEBA parcel lockers under the Greek sun
ACS is the leading courier company on the Greek market and relies on KEBA parcel lockers to automate the first and last mile of its delivery chain. ACS was won over by KEBA’s reliable technology and user-friendly design, and particularly valued the state-of-the-art security features and easy installation.
A country like Greece can also be subject to extreme weather conditions, so the robustness of the delivery lockers also played a key role. The KePol FS09 machines easily rose to the challenge.
DPD Baltics
Automated first and last mile logistics
DPD Baltics uses a hybrid network of pick-up shops and delivery lockers in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The growth in the eCommerce market was the driving force behind the investment in automated package locker solutions.
Customers benefit from all services related to the collection and drop-off of parcels – not only can they collect packages, they can also send them to any address within the EU or to another package locker.
Iceland Post
Defying extreme weather conditions
Posturinn, the national postal service in Iceland, has been using KEBA package lockers for many years now. Its customers can collect and send parcels 24/7.
Despite being a relatively small country, it is well-equipped with lockers. The KePol machines are located outdoors in around 60 locations, defying the worst that the Icelandic weather can throw at them. Around half of the machines are located around the capital city Reykjavík, with the remainder spread across the rest of the country.
Posta
Efficient Logistics on the Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands face unique challenges in parcel delivery due to their distinctive geography. Together with KEBA, the national postal service of the Faroe Islands has introduced a modern parcel locker network.
This collaboration enables the delivery of both parcels and medical products through parcel lockers, streamlining the process and reducing the need for multiple delivery routes. A key benefit for Posta and pharmacies is the ability to optimize routes, saving both time and costs.
Sameday
Network of delivery lockers in Romania and Hungary
Sameday has been one of our customers since 2019. As one of Romania’s largest logistics companies, it operates a network of “easybox” parcel machines located all across the country. Sameday offers its customers services for the first and last mile to ensure quick and easy deliveries. 3,700 parcel lockers are already in use throughout Romania and operations have started in Hungary.
Milestones
We win over our customers with our technical expertise in automating logistics chains. Our success story in automated logistics stretches back as far as the early 2000s. In 2001, we joined forces with Deutsche Post DHL to develop the world’s very first package locker. In 2005, we added an extensive client and server software solution to complement KEBA’s locker systems.
From KeBox to KePol
In 2009, we renamed KeBox and marked the birth of the KePol series that we know today. Our customers benefit from an end-to-end solution comprising the necessary hardware, software and service. But we don’t rest on our laurels – here at KEBA we constantly strive to take our parcel machines to the next level.
In 2010, we launched the first fully modular locker system on the market, enabling parcel lockers to be tailored even more precisely to specific customer requests. This was followed by outdoor and lower-cost versions.
Conserving resources with the eco versions
In 2020, we introduced an eco version with a photovoltaic cell and app-based operating concept, opening the door to considerable resource savings. The KePol Flex series is the latest addition to our delivery locker portfolio. It can be commissioned quickly and economically thanks to the concrete base, designed with simple installation in mind that eliminates the need for laborious on-site preparations.
